Pat Barrett from Black Flash Promotions (BFP) and Frank Warren, from Queensberry Promotions (QP) have joined forces. Together they are developing and showcasing new and upcoming boxing stars, helping to shape the future of British boxing.
Mr Barrett is known for successfully training and operating the management and promotion of stars out of his famous Collyhurst and Moston gym in Manchester. Through BFP he intends to promote a significant number of boxing shows across the UK, with the view of providing a platform to showcase our next generation of elite young boxing champions. By collaborating with QP, these young boxers will be given the opportunity to gain experience and exposure, while also developing their own talent and advancing their career, through regular boxing features. During these features QP will be looking for any fighters that really stand out, who excel in their boxing skills and show an exceptional level of ability. These boxers will be given the opportunity to benefit from promotional agreements with QP and potentially even feature on BT sport-televised cards.
This won’t be the first time, the duo has worked together before, they have been successfully collaborating for years.
During his fighting years, the former European champion was promoted by the Hall of Famer and since, the two have worked together to help promote some of British up and coming young boxing champions. They drove the career of leading super featherweight Zelfa Barrett, as well as the former Team GB light heavyweight Lyndon Arthur. Both boxers will both soon be in contention for major titles thanks to the promotion efforts of Barrett and Warren.
This exciting collaboration will benefit Queensberry Promotions (QP) prospects who will get the chance to increase their activity through more QP-BFP shows.
While the audience for these shows is expected to increase as the show is profiled and then promoted through the media channels QP has. QP and Warren will also get the chance to be involved from the very start of their prospects careers, having input into the development of these career and monitoring them in a bid to elevate their careers to a major television platform.
Pat Barret, from his comments, is extremely excited about the collaboration between the pair. He sees this as an opportunity to guarantee the successful fighters a career in the industry through Frank’s help, while continuing his work as a small promoter helping fighters in shows across Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle.

During Pat Barrett’s fighting career, Frank was his promoter, and Barret considers him to be the best at what he does. Continuing this legacy and working alongside Frank is an opportunity that Barrett is grasping with both hands.
This is a wonderful incentive that is being showcased on a massive platform. This opportunity is open to all boxers that Barrett works with, not just those he trains. Any fighters who fall under the Black Flash banner will be built up and forwarded to Queensberry, like Zelfa Barrett, Lyndon Arthur and many more. Doing this Barrett hopes to help many more boxers, while establishing a long-term relationship with Queensberry.
This relationship is very unique, it’s not often you see a promoter fall under someone else’s promotional banner. However, it works perfectly. Barrett is able to support his boxers to 10-0, 12-0 and to a minor title level, but he can’t take it any further.
Barrett said “There is so much talent out there and not enough opportunity for them, which is why myself and Frank have come up with the idea of working together because, what he can’t give them, I can.” Warren, on the other hand, can take these boxers onto British, European and world titles.
Warren’s media team will provide invaluable support to Barrett and his prospects, while Barrett will also benefit from the respect Warren and Queensberry have in the industry. The system they have worked out together is perfectly designed. Warren has a lot of fighters signed to him and Barrett has a lot of shows which can keep these fighters busy. Barrett likens the system they have developed to the football loan system where a team will take a player to keep them active before they return back to their old team with a better performance. This will help to make sure that they are ready and in a perfect position for bigger shows. Offering a complete package to our rising boxing stars.
On behalf of Queensberry promotions, Frank Warren commented that Barret is someone he holds in the highest regard, not just as a fighter, but also as a trainer, a manager and a promoter. He praised the work Barrett has done in North West of the country and added that he is excited at the opportunity to expand the operation Barrett has established, across the entire country. After remarking about the “superbly trained products of Collyhurst and Moston”, he commented that he is excited about this new chapter in the duo’s working relationship. The first show that the duo are collaborating on will be on the 26th April at the Middleton Arena, Manchester. This show will see the return of the talented English Super Featherweight Champion Zelfa Barrett (20-1).
