Close 12-round fight sees Zelfa Barrett beat Kiko Martinez

On Saturday Feb 13^th the Brown Flash fought former Bantam World Champion Kiko Martinez in one of Eddie Hearn's Lockdown Fight Shows.

Martinez, former world champion and experienced fighter, held the match with power and strength, which Barrett counteracted with pure boxing skills.  The middle of the fight saw some close rounds, but Barrett fought strongly and held his position until the end of the match to secure a points victory.

Barrett commented in his post-interview with Sky Sports that although he knew he had won the fight, even though it was close.  He added “It depends how people look at it do they like to see pressure or do they like to see boxing. I just had to stick to it and listen to my uncle.”

Following this match, Barratt moved to 21-5 with 15 KO’s and the talented Super Featherweight fighter has even more experience under his belt.
